What is the Bad Times AI trend?
Bad Times AI stars you in a very one-sided argument. You stand alone in an ordinary kitchen, a white fridge to one side and a dining table behind you, and you have it out with whoever is holding the phone. Face buried in your hands, then a head snap with your hands on your temples, then side-on with a hand on your hip and a palm up that says excuse me.
It builds from there. The back of your hand goes to your forehead in mock despair, both palms push out in a firm stop, and you nod on every beat. On the drop you bend your knees and lunge at the camera, give a sarcastic thumbs-up, count points off on your fingers in close-up and slap a palm flat over the lens to end it. It works with a pet too: your cat or dog rises onto its back legs and does every gesture with its own real paws, head tosses and ear flicks included, no human fingers anywhere.
The clip runs 15 seconds in one vertical take with no cuts, and the moves follow the trend’s own timing. It doesn’t include the song, so pick the Bad Times sound in the TikTok or Reels editor. It makes a perfect reply to whoever started it in the comments.

Where Bad Times AI started
The trend uses “Bad Times”, a deep house track by Imael Angel released on March 30, 2026. A French creator posted a kitchen lip-sync to it on August 20, 2026, and a second take followed on September 9. Pet owners then swapped in their own animals, mostly cats.

Bad Times AI questions
The short answers. Ask a person or visit the help center.
Can my pet do the argument?
Yes. Your cat or dog rises onto its back legs in the kitchen and copies every gesture with its own paws: the stop, the hip, the point and the paw over the lens.
Does the person filming show up?
No. Whoever films is never seen. It’s you, or your pet, alone in the kitchen, arguing straight at the lens.
Will it look like my kitchen?
No. The kitchen is always the same: pale grey walls, a white fridge, wire pendant lights and a table with white chairs. Only the lead comes from your photo.
Is Bad Times AI free?
Not free, but you can try Reelfie first: every new account gets one photo trend free, no card needed. Bad Times AI itself starts at $9.90 for a credit pack, with no watermark once you buy, and a run that fails costs nothing.
How much does Bad Times AI cost?
150 credits in HD (720p), 75 in standard (480p). A pack from $9.90 makes 1 in HD or 2 in standard, and a plan from $16.58/mo, billed yearly, makes 3 in HD a month. The Make button shows the total before it runs, and a run that fails gives the credits back.
What app makes the Bad Times AI video?
Reelfie (reelfie.app) makes it from one photo, with no prompt to write: the trend’s look is built in. It costs 150 credits, shown before it runs, and a run that fails costs nothing.
Is Reelfie the official Bad Times AI app?
No. Bad Times AI is a trend, and no app owns it. Reelfie (reelfie.app) is independent, not affiliated with TikTok, CapCut or the trend’s creators; it makes your own version from your photo.
Can I make Bad Times AI with ChatGPT, Gemini or CapCut?
Partly. ChatGPT and Gemini can write a prompt, and AI video tools, CapCut’s included, can turn a photo into a clip from it, usually after a few tries and with a watermark on free tiers. They don’t know this trend’s scene or timing. Here both are built in, so one photo is all it takes.
How long does it take?
Most videos are ready in 3 to 5 minutes. You can close the page; the video keeps going and waits for you in Assets.
Can I make it with my cat or dog?
Yes. Choose Your pet and upload a photo where your pet’s face is clear and facing the camera.
Why does the face not look like me?
Usually the photo: side angle, low light or something covering the face. Try a clear front photo. If one doesn’t come out, you are not charged.
Can I post it on TikTok?
Yes. The video is vertical with the trend sound, and after your first purchase it has no watermark. Pick the trend’s sound when you post and your video also shows on that sound’s page.
Who can see my video?
Only you. It stays private in Assets until you create a share link.
What happens to my photos?
Your photos are deleted 7 days after upload and never used to train AI.
One selfie.
You in Bad Times AI.
