How to pick a funny trend

Funny trends work because the setup looks normal and then something goes wrong. Pick by who it’s for: a pet prank for the family chat, a muscle flex for the gym friend, a caricature for a birthday.

Most funny trends are 8-second videos with sound, made to send rather than to post, though they loop well as a Story. Caricature and Action Figure come back as photos, which land well as a birthday message.

Keep it kind. Only use photos of people who’d laugh along, and nobody under 18.
