Quick answer
For a picture, attach a photo of each of you to Gemini or ChatGPT and paste the still prompt. For the video, start from that picture and paste the slow-dance prompt into an image-to-video tool. Pet and ending variations are below. AI Zombie Love Story on Reelfie skips the prompts.
The zombie couple works in two passes for most free tools: first turn you both into zombies in a still, then make that still move. The prompts below follow that order, then branch into endings and pets.
Step one: the zombie couple picture
Turn the person in the first photo and the person in the second photo into a couple of friendly movie zombies: pale grey-green skin, dark circles around the eyes, messy hair, torn but clean clothes. They hold hands and smile at each other on a foggy street at night under a street lamp. Cartoonish, sweet, no blood or wounds. Keep their faces recognizable. Vertical 9:16.
- “Friendly movie zombies… sweet, no blood”: gets past filters and keeps the trend’s tone.
- “Torn but clean clothes”: zombie enough without anything gross.
- “Keep their faces recognizable”: the joke only works if friends can tell it’s you.
Step two: the slow dance
Vertical 9:16 video, 8 seconds, from this picture. Fog drifts along a night street. The zombie couple shuffle toward each other, take hands, and slow dance in a small circle under the street lamp, a little stiff and clumsy, smiling. Soft yellow lamplight, gentle camera drift. Keep both faces as in the picture. No gore, no text.
“A little stiff and clumsy” is what sells it: zombies who dance perfectly just look like people in makeup.
Story endings to swap in
Prom night
Dressed up, still undead.
in a ruined school gym with paper streamers, a corsage on her wrist
Only one turned
The human one doesn’t mind.
only the second person is a zombie; the first holds their hand anyway, smiling
Graveyard
Moonlight instead of a lamp.
in a misty graveyard under a full moon, leaning on a headstone
A cat or dog zombie
Pet versions are popular and easy for general tools, because nobody minds if a cat’s face changes slightly. Attach a pet photo and try:
Turn the pet in this photo into a cute cartoon zombie: grey-green fur, droopy eyes, a tiny torn bandana. It sits under a street lamp on a foggy night street and tilts its head at the camera. Sweet, no blood. Keep its markings.
Our template is for two people, so pets belong in another tool.
Or one step on Reelfie
AI Zombie Love Story does both passes from a photo of each of you, for 80 credits shown before it runs. The full how-to has the photo advice.
Common problems
It came out too gory
Add “cartoonish, friendly, no blood or wounds” and drop words like “undead horror” or “rotting”.
Only one face looks right
The weaker photo is losing. Swap it for a sharper, front-on shot and run the still again.
They never dance
Spell the moves out in order: walk toward each other, take hands, turn slowly in a circle.
